Dual Enrollment Opportunity for THS

"Dual enrollment" is a program which allows high school students to take a college course and have it count both towards high school graduation and college credit hours. To be eligible to take dual enrollment courses through a college, university, or junior college, a student must:
  • Be in at least the 10th grade
  • Have a "B" average

The process wold begin by the student seeing his/her counselor at THS to pick up an application. The counselor is also equiped to talk with the student and answer questions. An admission test called "COMPASS" is required. The Talladega branch of Central Alabama Community College administers this test twice each week. If a student has taken the ACT and has scored 20 or better in English, mathematics, and reading, the student is exempt from taking COMPASS.

Class schedules for the spring semester for Central Alabama Community College will be available in November. The schedules can be accessed from the CACC website at http://www.cacc.edu/.
