Talladega City School Athletes Shine at the Special Olympics

October 5th was a special day for athletes from the Talladega City School System who competed in the Local Special Olympics held at the Alabama School for the Deaf. Each student had the opportunity to compete in events such as 100 meter dash, 50 meter dash, 100 meter assisted walk, 100 meter wheelchair race, and softball throw to name a few.

Every student from the Talladega City Schools placed in at least one event and most of them placed in two. This event is a pre-requisite for the athletes to be able to compete at the State Special Olympics Alabama that will be held in May at Troy State University.

The school system commends the teachers and staff who work with these students everyday. Your support and care plays a huge part in their continued success.

Congratulations to all of the athletes on a fantastic job in representing the Talladega City School system!
