Just Over 100 Audition for Robin Hood

Just over 100 students in grades K-9 auditioned this evening for part in the Missoula Children's Theatre production of Robin Hood. Congratulations to all our students who put their best foot forward!

Rehearsals will be held each night this week. The students will present two shows at the Ritz on Saturday. The first performance is at 3:00 PM and the second is at 6:30 PM. Admission is $6 for adults and $3 for students.

Two actors will be working with the students. Their bios are as follows:



Katelyn Vawter is a recent graduate of the University of Memphis with a BFA in theatre performance and a minor in English literature. Favorite show credits include: “Poppy” in NOISES OFF; “Henrietta Iscariot” in THE LAST DAYS OF JUDAS ISCARIOT; and “ensemble/dancer” in THE MYSTERY OF EDWIN DROOD.



Kerri Heidcamp hails from St. Charles, Illinois. She recently graduated from Miami University with a BA in theatre performance and a minor in history. She also graduated from The American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York City where she majored in musical theatre. Her favorite show credits include: “Meredith” in FIVE WOMEN WEARING THE SAME DRESS; “Liz Imbrie” in HIGH SOCIETY; “Helena” in A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM; and “Miss Hannigan” in ANNIE. When not performing, Kerri loves traveling, white water rafting, swimming – basically anything that has to do with water, watching movies and reading.

During the day, the two actors will be conducting workshops at for the 3rd grade classes at each of the elementary schools in the school system.

Missoula Children's Theatre Tryouts Monday


Open auditions will be held on Monday, December 1 for the Missoula Children's Theatre production of "Robin Hood." Auditions will be held at the Ritz beginning at 5:00 P.M. Any student in grades K-9 may audition.

Numerous roles will be cast, all with local students. No advanced preparation is required. After a week of focused rehearsals, there will be two public performances of "Robin Hood" at the Ritz. These performances will be December 6, one in the afternoon and one in the evening.

The productions include professional lighting, sets, costumes, and music. Most importantly, it is a great opportunity for local students to perform in a theater production and have a wonderful educational experience.

Our partnership with the Historic Ritz Theatre is just one example of how Talladega City Schools is moving forward!

Missoula Children's Theater Touches All 3rd Graders




Communication, creativity, and concentration...Are these skills children are going to need to thrive in the fast-paced world they will inherit? These "3 Cs" are the focus of a workshop being conducted for all of the 3rd grades in our school system this week.

Missoula Children's Theater actors Jennifer Wills and Jeremy Cunningham are in Talladega this week. Following auditions this past Monday, they have been conducting rehearsals after school each day.

During the day, Jennifer and Jeremy are working with the 3rd grades in each of our elementary schools. This activity is just one of the ways Antique Talladega and the Historic Ritz Theater support our schools.

Performances of Robinson Crusoe will held held this Saturday at the Ritz with shows at 3:00 and 6:30. Many of our students have parts in the production.

Reminder--Auditions for the Missoula Children's Theater

Just a reminder that open auditions will be held on Monday, November 26 for the Missoula Children's Theater production of "Robinson Crusoe." Auditions will be held at the Ritz beginning at 5:00 P.M. Any student in grades K-8 may audition.
Approximately 60 roles will be cast, all with local students. No advanced preparation is required. After a week of focused rehearsals, there will be two public performances of "Robinson Crusoe" at the Ritz on December 1.

There is no fee to audition. There is a cost of $20 for those who are cast to help with the expenses related to the production.

The productions include professional lighting, sets, costumes, and music. Most importantly, it is a wonderful opportunity for local students to perform in a theater production and have a wonderful education experience.Thanks to George Culver and the Historic Ritz Theater for providing our students with this opportunity!
